Did God Forget About Me?

I can’t lie—sometimes I catch myself scrolling through Instagram, seeing people I grew up with—or even total strangers—getting exactly what they prayed for. And here I am… still wondering, still waiting.

Did God forget about me?

I know I heard Him clearly. I’m sure of His promises. But every time I get my hopes up, another day, another month, another year goes by. And I start to wonder:

Am I running out of time?

The first thing I had to realize is that time isn’t even a limitation in God’s reality. He created time for us to exist in—it doesn’t confine Him the way it confines us.

2 Peter 3:8 reminds us,
“But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”

God isn’t late. He’s not scrambling. He’s not withholding anything just to test your patience. He’s moving exactly when He needs to—because He sees the whole picture, not just the part you're in right now.

And here’s the truth: you haven’t missed anything. God has the power to restore the years you thought were wasted. The “delay” may feel frustrating, but it’s not a denial. It’s preparation.

If I’m being honest, I’m actually thankful I didn’t get some of the things I prayed for back then. I’m grateful I didn’t get married or have a child before giving my life fully to God—because I would’ve brought unhealed trauma into those blessings and turned them into burdens. Now? I get to take notes, save all the baby tips, and prepare for the future with joy and wisdom. I’ll be ready to steward what I once wasn’t prepared to carry.

The last thing I had to confront was this: I was disappointed because I was the one putting God on a timeline.

Yes, He gave me a promise. But never once did He say, “Rachel, it’s happening on November 4, 2024.” So how could I accuse God of failing me when the timeline was something I created?

It’s so easy to get caught up in the world’s version of success. But you are not of the world—and neither is your story. God’s plans for you are bigger than you can imagine. They might be taking time, but that’s because they’re worth the wait. He’s not just preparing the blessing—He’s preparing you to hold it.

So stay faithful. Stay ready. Because when it happens, it’s going to be so sudden, so undeniable, and so divine...
there’ll be no turning back.

Now it's your turn to ask yourself:

  1. What timelines have I placed on God that He never gave me?
  2. In what areas of my life am I struggling to trust God’s timing?
  3. What has God protected me from by making me wait?
  4. What have I learned in the waiting season that I couldn’t have learned otherwise?

FOR THE ONE IN WAITING

Prayer

God, I surrender my timelines, my fears, and my frustration. Help me to trust Your pace over mine. Remind me that You are never late, and that every delay is laced with purpose. Thank You for loving me enough to prepare me for what I’ve asked for. Give me peace in the waiting, strength in the silence, and joy in the process. I trust You completely—even when I don’t understand.

In Jesus' name

Amen

God is giving you a fresh start

Recently, my aunt came to visit, and she brought along one of my favorite snacks—Popcorners. Excited, I tore open a bag, ready to dive in. But the first chip I bit into was stale. Disappointed but determined not to waste food, I kept eating, convincing myself that the other bag was probably stale too. I had resigned myself to the lackluster experience until a small voice nudged me, “Check the other bag.” Reluctantly, I did. To my surprise, the second bag was fresh, crisp, and every bit as...

How God mold and shapes us

In one of my videos, “Am I Lazy?”, I briefly shared about my battles with chronic pain—specifically from complications of the shingles virus. Contrary to popular belief, shingles isn’t just for the elderly. It can reoccur in unexpected ways and cause long-term damage. Recently, I experienced a flare-up, and with it, I found myself slipping mentally back into a dark place I thought I had left behind. A place I thought I was delivered from. But in the midst of my pain, God, in His infinite love...

I've missed you guys so much! Your girl has been gone for a while and the subject of this newsletter should give you some clue as to exactly why. Trust me, I hear you Reader, it sounds a bit harsh, but bear with me. The truth is many of us get this walk with God confused, which is why we often end up feeling disappointed or discouraged.
